Though there is an endless amount of information online and in written form to help entrepreneurs succeed, the trick is to find trustworthy information and then put it into practice to strengthen your enterprise.

Printed Resources

LAMBAC is an agent of the Canada-Ontario Business Service Centre (COBSC) program.  This means not only that we are linked to the most up-to-date and extensive Canadian online business resources, but that we are provided $1000's of dollars each year worth of printed resources, which are freely available to the public in our Gore Bay office.  We can also bring requested titles to our Espanola office for you to browse or borrow.  Just stop in and peruse our shelves of information.

We have a package of articles about business planning which we are happy to mail out free to anyone upon request.

One very useful set of books available to be borrowed is the Self-Counsel Series, which contains books on starting and running businesses in a wide variety of fields:

Start & Run a Retail Business

Online Resources

The online Canada Business Service Centre (www.cbsc.org) is the most up-to-date, trustworthy and extensive online business resource in Canada.   Each province has its own complete website with provincially specific information (Ontario's is www.cbsc.org/ontario).

You can even talk to a real person!  Can't find what you're looking for? Not sure where to start? Need more specific information? COBSC invites you to "Talk to Us!".  If you can talk on the phone while being on the internet, just enter your phone number, click the connect button and your phone will ring (8:30 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday) and there will be an Information Officer ready to guide you through the website.  If you need to be off the internet to talk on the phone, just disconnect and call them yourself at  1-800-567-2345.

Here we will also give you links directly to specific features and topics on the COBSC website:
